To provide Surf Life Saving services to Mermaid Beach is the main reason for the Club’s existence. These services are provided through 12 patrol groups manned by approximately150 active members. Typically these members conduct a half day patrol of our beach approximately every 3weeks.
Each patrol requires members with different qualifications in order to function properly. Members can gain qualifications through courses and awards conducted by the Club and SLSQ.
The pages under Surf Life Saving contain details of the program offered by Mermaid Beach Surf Life Saving club. This inlcudes:
- Information on the comprehensive training and nationally recognised qualification program available to members who are actively involved in beach patrols, surf sports, carnivals and related surf lifesaving activities
