Over the weekend we also had some of our youth members attend the 2024-2025 Season Gold Coast Youth Development Ball. 🪩
A fantastic evening was had by all, filled with lots of fun, great company, and a chance for our next generation to connect and get together!

Over the weekend, we held our 2024–2025 Season Captains’ Kegs and Surf Sports Wrap Up, where we came together to celebrate some of our incredible patrolling members and surf sports competitors.
A great night was had by all, filled with great company, good laughs, and a chance to come together and recognise the hard work and dedication of the people who make our club what it is. ❤️💙🤍

Our experienced Boat Captain who plays a vital role in keeping our water operations running smoothly and is always willing to lend a hand and share his knowledge with members across all areas of the club.
How long have you been a member of Mermaid Beach Surf Life Saving Club.
-5 Years.
What inspired you to join Mermaid Beach Surf Life Saving Club?
-In 2019 Mermaid became my home and it was time to restart my journey in surf clubs. I had previously spent 15 years at Lorne SLSC in Victoria, and had always wanted to row surf boats with a Qld club.
What’s your favourite memory or experience at the club?
-Finally getting an Aussie medal last year in the Reserve Grade Boats.
If you could give one beach safety tip to the public, what would it be?
-Swim between the flags and if not confident stay on your feet.
What do you love most about being part of the Mermaid Beach SLSC community?
-Mermaid is the right balance of family, friendship, community service and competition. I also have a daughter Rose who is an active member and that brings me great joy to see her enjoying surf life saving too.
